Online Platform
In 2004, three online MA programmes were established at the Faculty of Communication and Public Relations and they were first of their kind in Romania:
· MA in Project Management
· MA in Business Communication
· MA in Education Management and Institutional Communication
The online MA programs offered by the Faculty of Communication and Public Relations are using an online platform that is a premiere for the Romanian education system. The highly interactive online platform www.comunicareonline.ro facilitates the continuous dialogue between professors, tutors and students.
The online platform is structured as follows:
1. The public area contains general information about the online learning system
and about the online MA programmes offered by the faculty. Here one can find
a detailed description of the curriculum, the CVs of the faculty, the evaluation
criteria and other relevant topics. Among the sections of this site area there
are:
· Mission statement of the MA programme
· Target public
· Newsletters
· Online useful resources
· Partners
· Announcements
2. The private area is especially designed for the registered students (accessible both to students and professors) and it incorporates the necessary tools for attending the online classes according to the course schedule. In this section, the students have access to:
· Internal regulations
· Courses
· Grade records
· Contact details
A virtual campus has been designed for each course, and this campus contains the following items:
· Course description and evaluation criteria
· Downloads (online textbooks, presentations, additional materials etc.)
· Private messages area
· Forum, where the teaching activity is carried out; students and professors
chat about the topics of the courses, analyze case studies and discuss possible
solutions to them
· Online evaluation tests
· Projects (the section where students upload their projects for evaluation
by professors)
· FAQ
3. The private site especially designed for the use of the faculty and administration
(students’ access is denied) makes possible the administration of the
course virtual campus by the academic staff involved in the teaching activity.
Community
From a student body of 25 in 1990, enrollment has grown to more than 4,000 undergraduate and graduate students both in the full time and Open Distance Learning system. The faculty, which initially consisted of 10 professors, now totals over 106 members. It gathers Romanian and, occasionally, international professionals and scholars in the field of Communication, Public Relations, Political Communication, Advertising, Human Resources Management, Project Management, and Broadcasting.

Comunicare.ro Publishing House was founded in 2000; its objectives are focused on advancing knowledge, education and learning. It also represents an important link between the Faculty of Communication and Public Relations and the public at large.
Its first goal was to provide courses and teaching support for
students. The editorial program quickly developed towards a wider academic approach.
It now not only includes teaching material, but also high quality translations
of fundamental works in such fields as communication
and mass media studies, public relations and advertising, sociology, anthropology,
psychology, economy, and political science. Comunicare.ro strongly encourages
and supports the publication of original works based upon research carried on
by Romanian academics.
Comunicare.ro main series are:
· „Textbooks“
· „Communication culture“ (fundamental works on communication
theory)
· „The public space“ (contemporary essays)
